Summary
The Financial Analyst performs complex analysis of financial information, forecasting future revenue and expenditures to determine financial budgets and forecasts. Also, includes management analytics and metrics, such as, product line profitability, inventory costing, turns, cash flow, kpi’s, etc. This position reports to the VP/GM.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform financial forecasting, planning, and operational metrics tracking
- Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
- Understand and report on financial performance (P&L, B/S and CF) and prepare for regular leadership reviews
- Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, and identify trends
- Work closely with the accounting team to support accurate financial reporting
- Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Guide the cost analysis process by analyzing costs of processes, labor, and inventory
- Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materials
- Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
- Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
- Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comparisons
- Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models
- Leading or supporting management assigned projects to their conclusion

Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook), of which, should be an intermediate to advanced user of Excel (i.e. vlookups, pivot tables, charts). Intermediate or better PowerPoint user would be preferred.
- High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills
- Team player with a proactive, positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation, accountability, and responsibility.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities using strong organization and prioritization skills.
- High degree of integrity while working with confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
- Ability to identify and research accounting issues independently and communicate conclusions effectively both verbally and in written form.
- Familiarity with manufacturing / processing environment preferred.
Required Experience and Education
- 3-5+ years of business finance or relevant experience
- Accounting experience in a manufacturing, product services or industrial environment
- BA/S in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics are the preferred major fields
- ERP experience, aerospace environment preferred but not limited to
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Significant experience with MS Excel
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to comprehend and utilize Accounting software, such as an ERP, QBO and MS Office products.
